The Stories Behind The Glass - brought to you by Carnival Glass Times

What is Carnival Glass Times? A newspaper? A features magazine? An educational journal? A coffee shop chat room? A breaking news bulletin?

YES to all of these.

Before radio, before television, before the astonishing tide of mass communication using the internet … there were newspapers. Back in the early 1900s they relied on the newspapers to bring the news, the stories and to paint pictures with their evocative words. Businesses created fascinating ads and catalogues to sell their goods, with illustrations that provide tantalising views of life a century ago.

The world of Carnival Glass is truly delicious. From the moment when we began our Carnival Glass journey some thirty years ago (really!), we were fascinated by The Stories Behind The Glass - the design influences, the social circumstances, and the way that Carnival Glass has affected and reflected the lives of glassmakers, consumers and most recently, glass collectors, over the last hundred years.

We uncover The Stories Behind The Glass, building on our existing twin features, “Sell it to me!” and “Read All About It!”, where we have some amazing material about how Carnival Glass was advertised, sold and marketed to the buying public of the time.

And not forgetting our unique Carnival Glass Worldwide NetworK ezine which conveniently brings it all to your email inbox.

Carnival Glass Times brings Carnival Glass to life - welcome to this exciting new feature!
