Collectors Facts - Art Deco avec Rectangles, maker unknown

Above: "MADE IN FRANCE" is moulded on the base.

Shapes:

Vase
Colours:

Amethyst

Moulded on its base of the Art Deco avec Rectangles vase are the words MADE IN FRANCE (above, right)

Our original thinking was that it might have indicated that items thus marked were originally intended for export from France, but this doesn’t really tie in with the fact that all the currently known examples have actually been sourced in France. Stan Hoegerman suggests that it might have been a way to make the items seem a little more “upmarket” and desirable.

Height: 9 inches; Diameter at top: 3.75 inches; Diameter at base: 3.625 inches“; Maximum circumference: 6 inches

Since finding this iridised one, Stan reports having seen two in lemon yellow satin glass.

Thanks to Stan Hoegerman for the images and all the information about this lovely vase.

The French bulbous vases -  Art Deco avec Rectangles and Décoratif - have some similarities to the bulbous vases from Czechoslovakia (but they are from a different maker).
