TOUR GUIDE
Rio - Esberard, Brazil

This delightful marigold tumbler was the first confirmed Carnival Glass pattern made by the Esberard Glass Company (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil).

The tumbler has ESBERARD RIO moulded into the glass - and so the pattern was called Rio by Bob, back in 2006.

Here are Bob’s words describing the tumbler.

“The marigold coloring is especially nice.

Its measurements are; 5” high; 2¾” rim and an indented base 2¼” across which is plain and un-iridised. It was made from a three piece mould. The mould lines have  been cleverly incorporated into the main design which is some type of a stylized star flower.

From the rim down ⅜ of an inch it is smooth up to a slightly raised line encircling the tumbler. Below this is a zigzag design with dots inside. Under this is three star flowers with stems and a star flower between each with no stems.

The entire design is simple yet quite elegant.”
