Parquet, aka Crazy Paving, aka Stars and Lattice - three names for the same pattern: the familiar creamer is known as Parquet or Crazy Paving while the butterdish is often called Stars and Lattice. They are all the same pattern, although the interpretation of the angled block and rib design alters on the different shapes of the items.

The base may be ground (not always) and usually features a star design.

The butterdish shown on the right has a gold paper label saying “AMBRITE – MADE IN ENGLAND”.

The butter has also been seen with a BRITISH MADE paper label.

Based on the labels, we know these pieces were made in Britain.

This, coupled with the smoke example known, suggests the maker could have been Canning Town Glass Company, who are noted for their limited output of smoke Carnival (for example, the Thistle vase), although this is not proven at present.
