Olde Virginia Glass - made in Carnival by Fenton, 1971.
"Olde Virginia Glass" was a Fenton brand name. In 1971, they added a range of Revival Carnival Glass "made from the original formula", and the items were marked " OVG". Here is a Fenton catalogue from 1971, for a range of OVG-branded pieces. The catalogue page shown here is courtesy of the Fenton Family and Fenton Art Glass Company.
Two patterns were featured:
Fine Cut and Block - swung vase, compote, candy box and footed nut dish.
Daisy and Button - (cat) slipper, hat and bootee.
"CN" was Fenton's colour code for amethyst Carnival Glass.
The Moulds
Here are some of the Fenton moulds that were used to make the pieces shown in the OVG catalogue. The pictures are courtesy of the Fenton Family and Fenton Art Glass Company.

Fine Cut and Block
Note that the mould for the Swung Vase is only about 7 inches tall - the glassmakers increased the height almost threefold by pulling and swinging it into the vase shape!
