Fenton Little Daisies is a rarely seen pattern. The wonderfully detailed daisy pattern (which gives the impression of a starburst of fireworks) is on the interior, the exterior being plain.
The pattern was named in Marion Hartung's "Tenth Book of Carnival Glass", which was published in 1973. She says "the many-petalled flowers could be any one of a number of flowers, but daisies are so familiar to us all, that they could well be the flower intended here." She reports that at that time, she had only seen the pattern in marigold.
It is known only in the shape of a large bowl, approximately 9 to 10 inches across, either as an 8 ruffled bowl or as an ice cream shaped bowl. The ice cream shape - like this one - is the scarcer of the known shapes.
Lynne's blue ice cream shaped bowl is exceptionally rare. It is 9 inches across and amazingly, it was found in the UK.
