Indiana Harvest / Harvest Grape - Indiana Glass Co.
Indiana's Harvest patterns (sometimes called Harvest Grape) is probably the most ubiquitous Contemporary Carnival Glass tumbler to be found.
Made in the 1970s through to the mid 1980s by the Indiana Glass Company of Dunkirk, Indiana, to take advantage of a resurgence of consumer demand for Carnival Glass. Harvest Blue came first, followed by Gold (a rich marigold / amber shade) and a vivid Lime Green.
They are chunky thick glass, and heavy, being sold as "Cooler Sets" of four to a box (see the Iridescent Blue" catalogue image below). The "Cooler" size tumblers are large: 14 oz, 5.75 inches tall with a base width of 2.25 inches.
There is also a Juice size - 4 inches high and 1.25 inches base width - which is much harder to find than the "Cooler" size. They were sold in boxes of six (see the "Iridescent Gold" catalogue image below).
In the centre below is a very RARE example of Indiana's Harvest being used as a Convention souvenir. It is inscribed: "CONVENTION AFGWU AFL.CIO LOCAL" and "MIAMI BEACH, FLA JUNE 7th. 1976"
AFGWU stands for the American Flint Glass Workers Union, and AFL.CIO is for the the American Federation of Labor and Congress of Industrial Organizations, a national trade union center and the largest federation of unions in the United States. It is made up of fifty-six national and international unions, together representing more than 12 million active and retired workers.

Below are two Indiana Glass Company's wholesale catalogues showing part of their "Iridescent Blue" and "Iridescent Gold" Carnival Glass range. The catalogues make it clear where Indiana Glass was targeting its sales efforts - the mass market. As the sales catalogue states: "spectacular volume sales!", and "fastest selling new volume and profit producing" lines.
