Fenton Teal Marigold Carnival Glass
Another new 1980s colour from Fenton was their Teal Marigold Carnival, introduced in 1988-89. The glass colour had been introduced earlier in 1988 without an iridescent (Carnival) finish, and had been called Teal Royale.
It was designed to "appeal ... to a whole new group of consumers!", items were given the colour code "OI" to denote the Teal Margold Carnival colour. On this catalogue page we see several of Fenton's very successful items that were produced in various colours - "Chessie" and "Alley Cat".
The catalogue page is shown here courtesy of the late Frank Fenton who gave us this beautiful extract during the time we were researching in the Fenton archives at Williamstown.
