Fenton's "Original Formula" Revival Carnival Early 197Os

Courtesy of the Fenton Family and Fenton Art Glass Company.

As the catalogue page explains, these items were made using Fenton's "old iridescent formula" from the early 1900s. This might include an element of marketing speak, as the late Frank Fenton had explained to us (during our factory visit to research our Carnival Glass books) that the old iridescent formula could not be reproduced exactly due to Environmental Protection Agency restrictions on the use of certain chemicals.

This selection was offered in amethyst carnival (Fenton's colour code " CN ").
