Blackberry Intaglio, Hortensja
Blackberry Intaglio, Hortensja
Hortensja catalogue
Shapes:

Bowls and plates, various sizes
Colours:

Marigold and frosted

These lovely items were made by Hortensja, Poland.

The clear pattern in the frosted base is intaglio and is called Blackberry Intaglio.

The moulded (panelled) pattern around the
exterior is known as Sticks and Stones.

Marigold bowls and plates in various sizes are known: the frosted intaglio berry design on the base alters according to the size of the dish: on the tiniest dish there are two leaves and one berry.

Many thanks to Ellen Richardson for these pictures of her super Blackberry Intaglio jam dishes. They are 3 inches wide and have quite a deep shape.

UPDATE, April 2018

The moulded Sticks and Stones exterior design, coupled with Blackberry Intaglio, is also known with a slight variation in which there is an arched or drapery motif on alternate panels.

Thanks to Barbara for this information and picture.
