Who made the Birds and Pomegranates comport?

This splendid amethyst compote has been named "Birds and Pomegranates", although we believe at one time it was also called "Parrots and Pomegranates".

Ray Rogers (an Australian collector) explained that he had been told that the bird is identical to an "Asian paradise fly catcher" as depicted on a piece of china. It's an intriguing item.

It was found in Australia, but was it made by Crown Crystal? The shape and colouring are reminiscent of Dugan, and look at the exterior. It's uniridised and shiny - much like many Dugan items. So, who made it? Could it be a Dugan item, maybe even made for the Australian market. Another mystery!
